I bought this book really fast only having read a few sentences.It's funny, easy-to-read and covers not only greek mythology but other cultures myths.Tough the author seemingly only covert his favourite myths it is funny and worthwhile nonetheless.Also a great Gift for friends :)10/10 would recommend

If you fancy the Internet/Tumblr Communiy and Culture, it's perfect for you. It's funny and creative idea. But I have to say the stories get a bit boring after a while.

Overall I greatly enjoyed it even though many myths I were familiar with there were still enough new ones I could enjoy. At times the chosen language felt too immature, though, to the point were it took from the quality of the story instead of adding to it. Still a good read even if only singly myths at a time.

Well, I'm obviously of a different opinion than most others here XD, but anyway:First things first, I bought the book after a friend of mine sent me pictures of the book's index, and I must say, after reading the whole thing I still find the index the funniest thing about the book, which is kind of disappointing. The humor is very repetitive, meaning after a few chapters, the joking only made me chuckle mildly, if at all. I would have expected it to be a little less like a mere blog-entry-kind of thing, as the formatting of the text is incredibly exhausting to read, I think. If I buy a book, I expect it to look like a book; otherwise, I could have gone to tumblr to read funny stuff written in the same style but often even more hilarious. The book's okay if you just want to hang out and relax after a bad day at work, but if you prefer a more subtle kind of humor (or at least decent formatting for a BOOK that you need to PAY for as opposed to an internet BLOG where you DON'T need to pay), I'd not recommend it at all.In hindsight, I would not spend money on this again.But after all, it's a really cool idea, I just miss a lot of the deeper levels of mythology that could have been included (wihtout missing out on the humor) but were left out in favor of kiiiinda rude joking.2 out of 5 for the effort and the idea... and the occasional laugh.

... wurde unbedingt empfohlen, und entpuppt sich als tatsächlich sehr gut. Ursprünglich für die Tochter bestellt, nun habe ich es mir selber auch gekauft XD Achtung: das Buch ist in englischer Sprache verfasst!
